Creating A Blog

By , December 31, 2014 8:34 pm

If you have been thinking that creating a blog would be fun, and maybe even profitable, but you just don’t where to start, I can help. Setting up your new blog is not difficult at all, even if you are an absolute beginner. The simple steps to take can be learned and completed by most people in a few hours time.

Here are some key points you need to keep in mind before you jump in feet first:

1. The first thing you’ll want to give some thought to is what will be the topic of your blog? Are you going to share some of your expertise on one of your hobbies? Are you going to use your blog as a way to keep in touch with family and friends? Or are you going to use your blog to build an online business? This step is crucial in determining several other factors related to your blog.

For example, if you are building a blog to share your expertise or keep in touch with family, you can probably just stick with the many free blogging platforms around such as Blogger.com, WordPress.com, Squidoo.com, Hubpages.com, etc. There is really no need for a ‘personal blogger’ to invest in their own domain name and hosting account, of course you can if you want, but you don’t really need to.

If, on the other hand, your blog is going to be for business and you are setting it up with the sole purpose of making an income online than you need to invest in a domain name and hosting account. Think of it like this: you wouldn’t open a fast food franchise in someone else’s building would you? You would at least need to have a contract stating that you were renting the space and therefore you could control, to a degree, what you did with that space. The internet is no different. When you own your domain name and you have your blog hosted it’s the same as owning some real estate online. This is important for the long term success of your business, this is also the biggest mistake many newbies make.

2. The second most important thing you need to consider, especially if you’re setting up a business, is to choose the topic of your blog. This topic, or niche, will largely determine whether or not you succeed online. Too many people just jump into a niche because they like it without having spent time researching whether or not it’s a viable market for them to make money in.

One of the best gauges of a good niche market is how many people are buying products related to that market? No matter how many people might like a certain niche, do they actually spend money on it? You can use free tools to determine this such as Amazon.com and the Google Keyword tools. Take some time to find a good niche market and the majority of your work will be done.

3. And last, pick the theme that you want for your blog. You can find hundreds of themes for free. Just pick a style that works for the subject of your blog. If you are building a business blog you may also want to install some plugins that will increase the functionality of your blog. A plugin is similar in concept to an app for a smart phone, it’s just a small software program that will enable you do to more things with your blog. There are thousands of plugins available and most of them are free.

These tips will help you when you are creating a blog, no matter what type of blog you are putting together. Most of all, enjoy yourself, blogging really is fun.

Internet Marketing Consulting-Get This Biggest Bang For Your Buck

By , December 29, 2014 11:26 pm

What does an internet marketing consulting firm do? They help their clients effectively market their online products or services to the general public for a fee. A good consultant will help you get the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to putting out money for advertising.

From Banner ads to PPC, or pay per click, to search engine optimization, or SEO, a good internet marketing consulting firm should be able to do it all. The more they do for you the better you time could be spent on customer service and satisfaction. Let them do the behind the scenes stuff while you are out there glad-handing.

If you have the budget, pay per click, or PPC, is a great way to go because you pay only for the people who actually click through to your site. Search engine optimization helps you get to the top of the search engine results page and, with a little tweaking here and there, being able to stay there.

You might be asking yourself, “How does someone get to be a consultant?” Education, education, education. To be a consultant you need to have a bachelor’s degree in business, computer programming, or systems analysis. You can take courses in IT, or internet technology as an addendum to your regular courses.

Other qualifications include excellent communication and analytical skills for working with and dealing with the general public. These skills aid the consultant in determining the best path to take with each client. Not everyone can be a master of every aspect of business or life so be willing to admit where you are weak and excel where you are strong. Your client deserves the very best treatment you can give them.

Each client is different and each client needs to move in a different direction. Obviously, each client wants to make money but the needs of each one will be different and may even change as you go along. You will have to be flexible enough to roll with those changes and come up with a workable model that your client can live with.

The number of IT jobs is increasing, including those for consultants. In the decade that began in 2008, the number of these jobs is expected to increase by approximately 83% by 2018 with salaries rising also. As it stands right now a good consultant can start making upwards of $100,000 or more in some states. Not too shabby.

Once your schooling is complete there will still be some learning going on. All the time as a matter of fact. You will need to stay abreast of what the competition is doing, and keeping up to date on how users continue to change the way they use the internet. Also, keeping up with the latest and greatest technology and information sources out there like webinars and video content is very important. Increasing demand for internet marketing consulting firms will increase the competitiveness and therefore increase the salaries, too.

Buying Domain Name – Personal Or Business

By , December 28, 2014 2:14 am

There are several ways you can go about buying domain name for your online business or for your personal online blog. If you have a personal blog you can just use the free services at WordPress or Blogger and use your own name. If you are starting an online business, though, that is not the method you should use.

When you buy a domain name you actually own a small piece of internet ‘real estate’. As long as you don’t break any laws you can do whatever you want with that domain.

If you rely on the free sites you will be at their mercy. That may not seem like a big deal right now but if you build up a very profitable online business and Google (who owns Blogger.com) decides that they don’t like something you are doing, they can shut your site down with no warning.

Think of what it would feel like to go to bed one night with a very successful online business only to wake up the next morning to find that your website is gone! If you think I”m just being paranoid you should ask around in the forums online and see if that has happened to anyone.

Since it only costs around $10 to buy a domain name, it’s just not worth the risk.

The next consideration for buying domain name is what should your name be? The best way to answer that is to do keyword research and compile a list of keywords associated with your niche that get high monthly searches.

With your keyword list in hand head off to some online domain name registrars like GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com (you can do a search and find many other domain registrars if you want to, there are a lot of them). Once there, you simply go down your keyword list until you find a domain name that is available.

So, let’s say you have a keyword that is “make money online“. You would go to a domain registrar, type in the phrase “make money online” choose your extension (I personally think it’s ok to use either a .com or a .net) and see if that domain is available. If it is you just have to check out, and it’s yours.

If you want to buy a domain name that has already been purchased by someone you can go to domain auction sites and try to buy it there. You will usually pay more since the domain name has actually been online in most cases and will already be getting traffic.

But, since it’s already getting traffic this may be a great way to jump start your business, so it’s not all bad. If you can afford it.

Buying domain name for your online business really isn’t difficult or expensive. To get the biggest bang out of your domain name just follow these simple tips. When you use an actual keyword for your domain name you will get a lot of free traffic and that is always a nice thing.

NeverBlue CPA Network – Whats In It For You

By , December 26, 2014 5:32 am

Never Blue Ads, now called simply Neverblue CPA network, was established by the Canadian company Neverblue Media. this company is one of the forerunners as far as CPA networks go, both nationally and abroad, and runs some of the most popular CPA offers on the intnernet. Neverblue offers top level rewards and an extremely user-friendly interface which is one of the reasons that it is so liked among its users.

It only takes a couple of minutes to start the sign-up process with Never Blue. You need to fill out an application which asks you for personal information, the websites you are running, how much you intend to spend on promoting your offers and what methods you will use to promote them. After you’ve submitted your application, you’ll be called by one of the Never Blue CPA representatives who will then perform a telephone interview basically just verifying what you have stated in your application. so, of course, it’s important that you be consistent with what you have written in the application when you answer these questions.

Once you are accepted, you will be assigned to an affiliate manager who will be in close contact with you so as to match your needs with the offers that they are promoting. From this stage forward, you can just login to the control panel with the username and password that you created in your application and start searching for offers.

Never Blue CPA affiliate commissions are paid on a net-30 pay period and by check. PayPal payments are also available but you will need to specifically request this type of payment method from your affiliate manager.

Another great feature of Neverblue is that it will pay you after you’ve earned more than $25, which is considerably lower than many other CPA networks.

Never Blue also works on a two-tier commission basis so you can earn from recruiting other affiliates into the program as well. You have a choice of earning either $2.00 per person that you recruit or a 2% commission for life.

Never Blue offers something for any type of affiliate. . . well over 700 offers and 22 categories including dating, weight loss, email & zip submits, health, ring tones and much more. Neverbue also holds many offers that are exclusive to them and their payouts are high on all offers.

The Never Blue CPA network is also very popular because of the suport it offers its affiliates. Once you join Never Blue, you can contact your affiliate manager via email, phone or fax and they are very quick to reply and extremely helpful in getting you on track. Remember, when you make money, so does your manager so he or she will do the best he/she can for you!

Internet Marketing Website

By , December 24, 2014 8:39 am

I’ve been working full time online for many years now and one recurring theme I see is that many people are terrified of the idea of putting together their own internet marketing website. They think that they need to be some expert in HTML or something. Not true.

The truth of the matter is that it has never been easier for anyone to set up their very own internet marketing website, and I’ll tell you why that is and how to do it in this article.

I’ve been telling people for several years that if they can read, write and click a mouse button they can put up their own website, and it’s true.

You see more online marketers are putting up websites that are based on the WordPress blog format (I’m not talking about the free WordPress site, just that type of platform). The reason for this is simple; search engines love these types of blogs because they are usually updated with relevant content on a regular basis and that is what search engines really love.

So, here are some basic steps to follow:

1. As I said above you don’t want to do the free version. Instead you want to buy your own domain name and hosting account. So, to find a good domain name one good rule of thumb is to find a keyword phrase in your niche and make that into a domain name.

For example, if your keyword is “cheap bird feeders” than you should try to find the domain name: “CheapBirdFeeders.com”.

Buying your own domain name is only around $10 if you get it for one year. If you find that that site becomes profitable you will want to renew that domain name every year so it doesn’t expire.

2. Now you will need a hosting account. There are many options online, but you should stay with one that has a c-panel and fantastico deluxe. A c-panel is the control panel which gives you access to your hosting account. And fantastico deluxe is a simple to follow, fully automated system that will set up a WordPress blog on your domain name with a few clicks of the mouse.

3. Once your theme is set up you can easily customize it with different themes. There are thousands of theme styles available and most of them are completely free to use. One word of advice though, keep your theme simple. You want your visitors to concentrate on your content not a lot of flashing distractions.

That’s it, those are the basic steps you will need to take to have an online presence. Don’t worry if all of this seems like gibberish right now. Once you start actually doing the steps you will see how easily it all fits into place.

Building your own internet marketing website is easy and inexpensive to do, but it is a vital component to a successful online business. Don’t shy away from this step, like I said, if you can read and write you can do it yourself!

Keywords Phrases – Targeted Long Tail Keywords Hit Bullseye

By , December 22, 2014 11:09 am

Keywords phrases, also called long tailed keywords, are any keyword that is made up of more than one word, usually 3 or more. This is very important for you to know since most of what you do online will most likely revolve around long tailed keywords.

Most single keywords will just be way too competitive. They will literally have millions of online marketers all competing over that word. That is why the long tailed keywords make so much more sense.

It will be much easier to rank for the term, “cheap golf balls” than it would be to rank for the term “golf balls”. Either way you will still have a lot of monthly searches but you may actually have a shot (pardon the pun) of ranking for the longer keyword phrase.

Don’t get misled by the huge amounts of monthly searches some keywords get. If they are getting hundreds of thousands of searches each month you can bet that there are millions of competitors all fighting over the scrapes.

Why bother? You can easily compile a long list of long tailed keywords. Each keyword can average over 1,500 searches a month. And the best part? You can rank high for most if not all of the keywords on your list.

Just ranking high for one of those keywords might not get you a lot of traffic, but what if you had a list of 20 long tailed keywords, each receiving about 1,500 searches a month and you were able to rank high for all of them? That is a lot of traffic, traffic that you just wouldn’t get if you tried to rank for the much more competitive keywords.

You can use the Google Keyword Tool, which is free, or many other online versions which are not, to find a great list of keywords associated with your niche market. Just start off by using a fairly broad term and then burrowing down to find a nice long list of highly targeted keywords that consist of 3 or more words.

Once you have your keyword list you can then use those keywords for many things such as article marketing and on site search engine optimization (SEO). This will allow your website or your articles to show up high on the first page of Google for a particular keyword. That means a lot of highly targeted traffic to your website… all for free.

Another important thing to keep in mind, you need to make sure that the keywords you choose not only have a decent number of monthly searches, and that they aren’t too competitive, but also that they are highly relevant to the content of your website.

This is another parameter the search engines use to determine the rank of your site. If the keywords that you are targeting do not relate really closely to your website you won’t rank as high for that keyword. It’s not a big deal, just throw out any of the words on your list that don’t relate directly to your website.

Finding the best keywords phrases for your online marketing is a very important step to take to assure your online success.

Conventions For Internet Marketing Companys

By , December 20, 2014 2:18 pm

If you are the owner of a business (either online or offline) and want that business to be even more of a success than it already is, you should expand your horizons and take the time to attend conventions for Internet marketing companys. Doing so can help you come up with new ways of doing things and allow your creativity to come to the forefront.

This will allow you to be able to reach your goals more easily and will lead to your business being more successful. If you are unable to attend this event, hire, promote or assign your IM manager to the task and tell him or her to keep you in the loop before making any major decisions at the conference.

Oftentimes the speakers chosen to address the attendees during conventions for Internet marketing companys started their businesses and, although were successful to a point, somehow knew there was more to be had. The difference between what you are doing and what they have done? Most likely they have more success coming in through their website.

When you hear about how they have succeeded, you might find that what they have done will work for you as well. Take copious amounts of notes and see if you can set up a meeting with them to pick their brain so you can emulate them. Who knows, it could lead to an improvement in both your career path and your bottom line. Hearing success stories from people in your field making six figure incomes, or more, can be extremely motivating.

When you attend events like these, you may find many companies promoting their own products. Before investing in a system to implement, or enhance, your online strategy, carefully compare all the features offered. Be as thorough as you can and ask a lot of questions. It is important that you fully understand what they are presenting to you before you buy their product.

Make a list for yourself with every feature you need or want in a product like they are offering. If you are the IM manager, call the office and talk to your superior and go over everything about the product with them before you get the go ahead to make a purchase.

After the conference is over and you get back to work, study the program thoroughly and outline a plan of action and present it to your superior. If everything is in place then initiate your plan of action to make the improvements needed to reach the goals you have set.

You should start seeing measurable results rather quickly, if not, make small changes as needed to get the program working for you. Most of these types of programs should come with a help line you can call if you run into difficulties.

As the IM manager you should be keeping yourself well educated and if that means attending one or more conventions for Internet Marketing companys every year you should so you can learn of new techniques and strategies to benefit your and your company’s bottom line.

Pay Per Click Information – Your Basics

By , December 18, 2014 5:31 pm

If you are new to internet marketing, you may have not yet been introduced to PPC or Pay Per Click advertising. But this type of advertising is one of the most powerful and effective ways to promote your products, build your lead list and make sales. This article offers basic Pay Per Click information for the beginner.
What is Pay Per Click?

Pay Per Click ads (commonly referred to as PPC ads) are text ads that you place on a search engine like Google, Yahoo or MSN. You construct the ad according to the criteria and guidelines of whatever search engine you are using and you bid the amount you are willing to pay each time a person clicks on your ad. The more you bid, the higher your ad will appear in the search engine results.

How do you construct a pay per click ad?

Although they are similar, each search engine has its own platform and set of instructions to help you develop your ads. But one thing that is common and crucial to your understanding of Pay Per Click information is the concept of keywords. You want to base your ad on what people are actually typing in when they do a search on the internet. How do you know what they are typing in? The search engine will be able to offer this information to you when you create your ad. So, if you want to advertise coffee mugs for example, you will be able to type these words into your PPC keyword tool and see what related words people are actually searching for and how often they are searching for them. You will use these words in your advertisement.

Once your ad is finished, anytime someone types in the words “coffee mugs” or whatever related terms you have specified in your ads, your advertisement will appear on the search engine page. Where it appears depends on how much you have bid for the keyword in comparison with how much your competitors have bid. Google, Yahoo and MSN all offer you the chance to see where your ad will be placed depending on the bid you make. You can change your bid in order to move your ranking up or down.

When just starting out, it’s a good idea to focus on low-search volume keywords so that you won’t have too much competition and your bids can still be low to get your ad ranked relatively high on the page. It will take you longer to get some traffic to whatever it is that you are promoting but you will need to go this route until you start making enough money to be able to compete with the higher-search volume keywords. One of the biggest mistakes people make when starting with PPC is to go with the most frequently searched and most competitive keywords. This is a surefire way to spend a lot of money and quite possibly not get the results that you are aiming for.

Hopefully this pay per click information has been helpful – PPC is an extremely effective form of advertising if you know how to do it the right way.

Review Of Traffic Exchange Programs

By , December 16, 2014 8:06 pm

Traffic exchange programs are abundant on the internet and a good way to get exposure and clicks to your website. Traffic exchanges, also called TE, work like this. They are free to join. Once you’ve joined, you post a short (compelling) description and link of the site you want to promote. In order to get exposure to your site you need to earn credits. The more credits you have, the more exposure you will get. You can earn credits either by clicking on the other members’ sites or you can buy your credits or upgrade your membership. This article will give you a description of some of the top traffic exchanges.

TrafficSwarm. This is one of the most popular traffic exchanges on the net. The quickest and easiest way to earn credits with Trafficswarm is to set your browser’s “start page” to your own personal ‘Surf URL’ on TrafficSwarm (there are step by step instructions on how to do this and it only takes a minute). This way, every time you open your web browser to surf the Internet, you’ll earn a credit. You’ll also earn 1 – 1000 credits every time you visit another member’s website through your start page. TrafficSwarm has the most users and visits of any other TE, and they also have an outstanding referral program.

Dragonsurf is another one of the best traffic exchange programs and one of its main benefits is that it allows you to build up credits fast. The traffic exchange is owned by Soren Jordansen who has a very good reputation in this business.

TrafficSplash has risen quickly to become one of the best traffic exchanges on the internet. TrafficSplash has an impressive design, the cheapest upgrades and credits you can find, and the extremley good customer service. This traffic exchange also offers many rewards that range from credits to splash points. Referal commissions for Traffic Splash are 50% which also places it in the excellent range. Included in the TrafficSplash promotion page are personalized splash pages, regular splash pages, a splash page generator, banners, rotators, sample emails and sample textlinks.

Soaring4Traffic is considered an extremely effective and innovative traffic exchange with lots of unique tools and friendly customer service. The only drawbacks of this traffic exchange are that the upgrades are over-priced and the referral commissions are only 40%

BlueSurf is one of the newer traffic exchanges and has actually surpassed DragonSurf in alexa rankings. This company is innovated in this respect: the home page always includes an “average surf” number. On the home page, it says “The number you see above is the average number of pages each surfer at blue-surf surfed yesterday.” To promote consistent surfing — and to reward the “average” surfer, all you have to do is surf more pages than the number above and you will get a 15 credit bonus at the end of the day. This ads up.

Start out with one or all of the above traffic exchange programs to boost traffic to your site.

Domain Parking – Passive Income From Domain Parking

By , December 15, 2014 12:01 am

Have you ever wondered what in the world domain parking is and how do you do it? This is simply a way of generating some extra income from a domain name that you haven’t gotten around to putting a website up on. Or you can actually use this technique to make money online, the choice is yours.

For either option, parking a domain name until you’re ready to set up your website, or making money by parking your domain as your primary business, you will approach it in the same way.

Step one is to find a good company where you can park your domain. These sites will act as the middle man and will place all the ads on your parked site. They will also take care of lining up the advertisers and issuing your check, so make sure the company you choose has a good reputation.

Next, you need to determine how much of a budget you have for your domain names. If you want to buy existing domain names that are already getting traffic and are well known, it will cost you more.

To get a new, unregistered domain name will be around $10 a year but an existing high traffic domain name could easily cost hundreds or hundreds of thousands of dollars (of course your chances of making a lot of money are much better with an existing domain name).

If you are looking for an existing domain name and you are planning on buying one from an auction site you would be wise to find a few highly reputable auction sites and familiarize yourself with the process.

It can be all too easy to get caught up in the auction process and later find that you’ve grossly overspent. That is not a good way to do business. Figure out what your budget will be, become familiar with the process and under no circumstances allow yourself to go over your budget.

If you are buying a domain name for your own use, but you just can’t get to it for a while and you want to make some money in the meantime, you obviously don’t have to worry so much about the auction sites. You can get a new, unregistered domain name from any online registrar, there are many from which to choose.

Either option you choose, you do have to find a good company. You want one that will pay you at least 85% of the profit from the ads placed on your site. You also want a company that will allow you to optimize your landing pages so you can maximize your return on investment and get a higher click through rate (CTR).

If you get stuck with a company that won’t allow you to have any control, you might regret deciding to try parking your domain in the first place.

Domain parking is a very popular method for generating income online. Whether you choose to do it only to make a little extra cash with that domain name you just bought but don’t have time to get to yet, or you are doing this as a full time income, there is a lot of opportunity to make money. Just like anything, though, you have to know what you are doing.
